Anthony and I had the great pleasure of meeting a fellow Seamless Sailor, Drena, and her husband, JR, from S/V Journey in Cocoa, Florida.
We had a delightful happy hour aboard Magnolia and dinghy’ed ashore for a sushi dinner at Thai Thai. It was great to meet in person after several email exchanges and following each others blogs. What fun to exchange sailing and sewing stories as we are all relative newbies. They are making their dream happen with their cat, Leo, aboard their O’Day .
Drena is sewing aboard with a Husqvarna Viking machine. I sewed on these very nice machines in high school Home Ec classes (dating myself again). She has written some posts about her sewing projects and has moderated a Monkey Fist topic on sewing aboard. She’s doing a great job with a variety of canvas projects. We took a look at her current project, a generator cover. After talking through it I think she has a good handle on how to cover, well, the handle. We also commiserated over solving tension problems and how to adjust tension through trial and error.
Keep it up, Drena and JR! We hope to see you guys again along the way and meet Leo, the sailing cat.
Any other Seamless Sailors who want to meet up? Please feel free to contact me.

Hi Annette – I’m actually anchored right near you in Cocoa as well (if you are still here). We’re aboard Chance. I actually think I’ve seen you and your husband dinghy by.
Hi, Yes, I think we buzzed by your boat. And I read your post about bug screens. Good info. I’ll post it to the Facebook page so other Seamless Sailors can read it too. Thanks! Annette
