<\/a><\/p>\nWe were very fortunate on our weather window to cross Lake Ontario. Hardly any wind and crisp clear sky<\/p>\n
Oswego Light<\/p>\n As as we got to clean fresh lake water it was time to get water through the wash down pump and guck off the deck.<\/p>\n Crossing US\/Canadian border<\/p>\n Up goes the Quarantine Flag telling Canadian official we have not through Canadian Customs & Immigration <\/p>\n Loyalist Cove Marina<\/p>\n Arriving to Loyalist Cove Marina we were able clear Customs & Immigration via telephone\u2026completely painless. Once that was done we raised our Canadian Courtesy Flag indicating we had cleared C&I<\/p>\n We took a walk into Bath, about a mile or so and the first building we came to was the water treatment plant\u2026.now you might not think much of that but this is the treatment plant\u2026.not the office but the plant. I was amazed by its appearance\u2026.I am going to like this country.<\/p>\n Not un-attractive street signs\u2026<\/p>\n After enjoying a couple days of poopy weather we headed for Trent Ontario.<\/p>\n Lots of islands mean lots of ferries.<\/p>\n Typical Lock & Park along the canal\u2026(beautiful Admiral extra)<\/p>\n Look at that hottie\u2026does she have a stern or what??? (of course I highlighting the beauty of the Admiral as well)<\/p>\n These moorings are included as part of our cruising permit fee<\/p>\n Then there is the inside of the locks\u2026behind those doors is about 40 feet of water just wanting to wash over me\u2026.grungy cloths in the lock required\u2026ok\u2026that’s what I wear most days aboard\u2026<\/p>\n Ok, if you include both locks, more like 65 feet of water!! We were down THERE 40 minutes ago\u2026<\/p>\n The town of Campbellford was a very nice stop with great docks.<\/p>\n A movie theater which we partook in\u2026a fabulous bakery where I overstocked while Annette shopped the Farmers Market\u2026pretty darn good!<\/p>\n Though we like to joke that most people might believe our life is nothing but sunshine and umbrella drinks\u2026a little rain does fall. Even when it does though, we get to look at cool things on the water\u2026voted best boat garage of the day.<\/p>\n Most locks you drive into\u2026they close some doors\u2026add some water, you float up to the next level\u2026not in Peterborough. Here you drive into a lock, more like a bath tub in a an elevator. They close the door and raise the bathtub up 65 feet\u2026open the other door (and not the wrong door) and you drive out. Bath tub on right is in up position, bathtub on left in down position.<\/p>\n We drive into the left bathtub.<\/p>\n Yes take me up and drop me at men’s sporting goods please\u2026.<\/p>\n Pretty amazing how quickly you are lifted up\u2026.<\/p>\n Remember, open the front door!!!<\/p>\n Here we are at Men\u2019s Sporting Goods\u2026..<\/p>\n After that experience\u2026the simple things in our life are really appreciated\u2026.I like could watch these families all day long\u2026<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Its straight forward, follow the marks and miss the rocks\u2026.miss a mark and you WILL find a rock..<\/p>\n Canada Independence Day is 1 July but the holiday weekend is beginning!<\/p>\n Part 2 assuming we survive the holiday weekend\u2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Crossing Oswego, NY \u2013 Loyalist Cove Ontario — 48nm We were very fortunate on our weather window to cross Lake Ontario.
