{"id":742,"date":"2012-10-16T20:48:17","date_gmt":"2012-10-17T01:48:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/a2baker.wordpress.com\/?p=742"},"modified":"2012-12-14T17:37:17","modified_gmt":"2012-12-14T17:37:17","slug":"2012-10-11-fall-cruise-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/?p=742","title":{"rendered":"2012-10-11 Fall Cruise #4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After leaving the truly spectacular Sassafras River Magnolia transited the Chesapeake &amp; Delaware (C&amp;D) Canal as far as Chesapeake City, MD.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/?attachment_id=837\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-837\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-837\" style=\"width: 978px;\" alt=\"015\" src=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/0151-1024x756.jpg\" width=\"986\" height=\"653\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most ships going from or to Baltimore from Philadelphia, New York or Northern Europe transit the C&amp;D Canal. Some of the largest ships in the world can and do pass through this canal. Thankfully we did not need to share the waters with the really huge ones. (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chesapeake_and_Delaware_Canal\" target=\"_blank\">Canal Information<\/a>) There is a small really enjoyable museum dedicated to the history of the canal. We had a very enjoyable visit. As you can see we needed to park right in front of that 53 foot Carver Power Boat. As you might know Annette does most of the boat driving in our family and this was no exception.
