We have had great weather,&nbsp; fabulous visits with family and friends and Magnolia has performed flawlessly! After departing Hampton we went just a few miles up the Elizabeth River to Portsmouth. On the ay we pass by the Navy Piers on the Norfolk water-front. A very lovely couple though!&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141005_162129.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"20141005_162129\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"20141005_162129\" src=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141005_162129.jpg\" width=\"644\" height=\"484\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We had a wonderful dinner and evening with my niece Lori and her husband Adam. I have to admit after our third visit, we still do not have a picture! We start yacking and the evening flies by! <\/p>\n<p>Magnolia slept in since the Gilmerton Bridge does not open till 9:00 to make sure people get to work on time\u2026.can you believe it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141006_083553.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"20141006_083553\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"20141006_083553\" src=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141006_083553.jpg\" width=\"644\" height=\"476\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A couple miles further we follow right along I-64. It makes me sad seeing those people rushing to work!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141006_090339.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"20141006_090339\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"20141006_090339\" src=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141006_090339.jpg\" width=\"644\" height=\"481\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We chose to take the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Great_Dismal_Swamp\" target=\"_blank\">Dismal Swamp<\/a> route which required Magnolia to go through a lock on the the north end and another on the south end. On our return one of the first thing I saw was a Marine Corp flag. I am sure my friend was saying hi!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141008_160508.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"20141008_160508\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"20141008_160508\" src=\"http:\/\/a2baker.com\/magnoliablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/20141008_160508.jpg\" width=\"643\" height=\"856\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We visited a new port on this trip, Oriental, NC. The funny thing it was NOT the weekend. Jack &amp; Kathy Tennar are coming to town this weekend to visit mutual friends Joe and Christine Volpe which will translate to come great camaraderie and plenty of high-jinx!
